Signing

Bestselling superstar author Cecilia Ahern will be signing copies of her new book, The Book of Tomorrow

(I'd advise arriving early as there will probably be a massive queue.)

X Factor Fever

Apologies for being super quiet lately!  I am spending every minute of my waking hours working on the rewrites for my novel, due out next Summer.  Having said that, I did take some time away from my desk this weekend to watch X-Factor.  It's one of my favourite shows and I'm delighted it's back.

My favourite contestant last year was Diana Vickers.  I thought she was very quirky and her clothes were gorgeous.  My favourite so far this year? Lucie Jones, an eighteen-year-old who sang Whitney's I Will Always Love You.  You can check out her audition here.

I'm back to work now peeps.  Have a lovely Monday.

500 days of Summer

500 Days of Summer is undoubtedly the best movie I have seen this year.  I LOVED it!  It was quirky without being annoying, it was romantic yet real, it was sad but strangely uplifting.  Zooey Deschanel's style in the movie is really cute, and the soundtrack is awesome.  Can't say enough good things about it!

Comic Heroines

I was super excited to see that Stephanie Meyer and J.K. Rowling will both get their own graphic novel biographies, due for publication at the end of this year.  J.K. Rowling's comic will see her wearing a purple off-shoulder dress, whilst Stephanie will sport a grey v-neck jumper! The books are being published as part of U.S. Publisher Bluewater Productions' Female Force comic series, which in the past has featured famous female figures like Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton.  More on this here.

I think this is a really cool idea.  Do you have a favorite out of these two authors?  I love Twilight but I think J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series was just pure genius.

On a completely unrelated note:
I had a lovely time in Leeds.  So many shops!  It was so nice to get a little break.  Back to rewrites now, I really want to get them finished so I'm not taking another day off until they are done!

On a little break...

I'm off to Leeds this week for a mini holiday.  I've never been but I've heard it's lovely!  See you all on the flip side!

Recent Purchases...

Much to my wallet's dismay I was in Easons again.  I continue to buy books even though I am knee-deep in rewrites and have very little time to do anything else.  I had planned to just buy Nick Hornby's book, but then I went to have a *look* in the children's section and The Graveyard Book wouldn't fit back into its place on the shelf after three tries, so I took this as a sign and bought it.  I come across signs very easily in bookshops.

I watched the Late Late Show last night (the longest running chat show in the world!) and thought its new host Ryan Tubridy did a great job.  My Mum and I have always been Ryan Tubridy fans so we were super excited to see his first show.

I'm off back to work on the book now,  hope you all have a lovely Saturday.
